Free Pattern: Priscilla Cross and Square

I got the chance to get the pattern for the Priscilla Cross and Square diagrammed over the weekend. You can access it through my Free Patterns page or go directly to it by Clicking Here.

Normally, I would test tat another version of the pattern after the diagram is completed, just to make sure everything is in its proper place. However, with this pattern taking so long to tat, I chose to proofread my diagrams instead of proofreading AND tatting. Let me know if you encounter any mistakes!

I also did not get the chance to put four squares together, though I'm fairly certain they can be used as a repeatable motif. I've made arrows on the diagram showing which picots to use to connect the squares together.

This pattern follows the same flow as the Priscilla Bookmark, which can also be found on my Free Patterns page. The only new stitch counts are in the central chains and floating rings.

Robin, thank you so much for the amount of work you put in to share the patterns. I will definitely be making the square, at least as a coaster initially.

Hi Robin, I'm tatting the square and noticed a diagram issue. In the top segment, two of the middle chains say to stitch 8 8 8, but in the left side segment they are 6 8 6. Not a big issue, but I thought you should know. Thank you for this wonderful pattern, I'm really enjoying it!

Thanks for the heads up! I was correcting an error in the cross and accidentally corrected in the wrong location on the square diagram. So now there are two error locations in the square that need fixing. Will get that done asap.

Should be all fixed now. Will check over it again tomorrow and make a short update post then.

Hi Margaret, hope you check back here as I have no email to contact you directly. If you'd like, you can send me a message using the Contact Form on the right side of my blog.

There is no cutting and tying until the very end. The entire pattern is done with one continuous piece of thread. Make the rings A, B and then use a chain to get to C, D. All of the blue chains on the diagram will connect the rings together.

Also note that the central blue rings are floating rings, made with shuttle 2. You have described the picot joins correctly.
